A NEW TREND: GUEST-CENTRIC ENTERTAINMENT CONCEPT FOR SUMMER HOLIDAYS
When holidaymakers research and choose the most suitable hotel for their summer vacation, the variety and richness of animation programs and daily activities offered by resorts are considered one of the key criteria. At many properties, standard games and activities—familiar and long-established classics that guests have experienced for years—are still offered throughout the day. Based on guest feedback and evaluations, elevating this traditional entertainment and activity approach to a higher level has long been a key challenge for the tourism industry.
This year, having expanded its portfolio with new hotels, ATG Hospitality has introduced a fresh perspective to daily hotel activities and animation services within its restructured Asteria Hotels & Resorts chain. Starting from the 2025 season, the brand has launched the “Guest-Centric Entertainment for Summer Holidays” concept. In addition to standard hotel activities, this concept now includes participatory and team-based events designed to satisfy all guest segments staying at the resort—ensuring enjoyable experiences for young guests, the senior age group, couples, solo travelers, and families with children alike.
Olympic-Style Games Add Color to the Holiday Experience
All-day Olympic-style events consisting of a series of fun competitions for both adults and children have been introduced. These activities adopt a group-participation approach that spreads entertainment throughout the day and includes classic yet enjoyable games such as tug of war, egg-and-spoon races, sack races, and musical chairs.
Daily Tournaments, Family Tournaments, and Picnics Make the Difference
Across Asteria properties, daily tournaments and games are organized every week, while tournaments exclusively designed for families have also been introduced. These family tournaments aim to bring all family members—children, youth, and adults—together to compete and have fun toward a shared goal, strengthening family bonds and increasing interaction throughout the holiday. Family tournaments include physically engaging sports such as football and volleyball, as well as more relaxed activities like darts, boccia, and mini golf.
In addition, in the kids’ club, delicious treats such as pizza, savory pastries, and cookies prepared by little hands in the morning are enjoyed together in the afternoon during a cheerful family picnic, with the participation of parents.
A Fresh and Creative Take on Pool Games
Seeking to go beyond standard pool-based stretching activities, Asteria Hotels & Resorts has introduced a range of eye-catching and unconventional pool games. These include basketball shooting competitions from a floating surfboard, blindfolded spoon-retrieval challenges in the pool, scoring goals into floating pool targets from surfboards, bursting colorful balloons stretched across the pool with multiple teams, and two-person surfboard games where teams attempt to push each other into the water using pool noodles. These activities aim not only to delight participants but also to encourage spectators to join in the fun.
Dance, Talent, and Art Competitions
Dance, talent, and art competitions that place guests at the very heart of entertainment are among the most vibrant highlights of the holiday experience. Dance contests are organized both for families and individual participants, while children’s themed artwork created during daytime workshops is exhibited in designated areas of the hotel in the afternoon. This approach ensures that young guests feel valued and appreciated.
At the end of all competitions, while the true winner is the guest-centric entertainment philosophy itself, participating guests are presented with certificates or medals before the evening animation shows. Through these guest-focused participatory activities, Asteria Hotels & Resorts aims to bring together guests staying at the same property during the same period, encouraging social interaction and a sense of togetherness. This synergy is expected to create a positive impact on the overall holiday experience and naturally enhance guest satisfaction.
